one day in San Francisco

We arrived in San Francisco on Saturday (SO happy to be back and with my sister and her family!) and spent a few days relaxing and acclimating to the pacific time zone.

This was a TOTALLY happy day for me.
But today we set out on our first adventure of the week by Riding the Ducks! - a 90 minute tour on a crazy bus that turns into a boat!  Our captain was a gem -- funny and kind and encouraging us all to throw ourselves into the experience.  There we were - 15 strangers - singing to the tunes of the Jackson Five, Katy Perry, and the Pointer Sisters as we toured the city and then the bay. All the kids were able to drive the bus/boat out on the water while we listened to Capt'n Roger.  I will never forget shouting the words to "we are family!" as we drove the city streets, watching people on the sidewalks turn and stare and then smile and then sing along.  So much fun, so joyous!

The following are some of the pics of the trip, plus our wanderings along Fisherman's Wharf. Great re-entry to the blogoshpere!

Never thought much of the Bay Bridge but today it was quite inspiring as e drove beneath it.

See the sign in the background - Brya is in her food element in San Fran.

The crazy ducks!

On the wharf.

This is a real guy - covered in bronze paint...thought he was a statue at first!
Bryanna and clam chowder!

Touring the U.S.S Pampanito - a WWII submarine. Cass was fascinated.

GREAT GREAT DAY!!!!!
