It's the most wonderful time of the year...

Well, not really, but I chuckle every time I see those Staples commercials...

Anyway, it IS the time to prepare for the return to school...so far we have bought the new back-packs and running shoes, some new outfits, and today was the back-to-school haircuts.

Cassidy just had a trim but wants to grow out PART of her bangs (she wants the fringe but not so thick). That means, of course, that she is now going to have to wear clips or a headband for quite a while. While I had my hair done too, the young assistant at the salon spent time pinning back the long pieces of Cassidy's fringe and added a "ta-dah" accessory. She was delighted!

Bryanna had quite a few inches taken off the overall length and then the salon girl french braided the front of her hair.

Another thing checked off as September 8th approaches. What else are people doing to prepare?

And Miz S in California, the following video clip is for you because you love it...we miss you!

I too love the Staples commercials but in my case it is my daughter pulling me and laughing as we go back to school. I do like the structure and routine of school but not sure I am totally ready. It has been a wonderful summer of fun so I guess I need to stop playing and get back to work. Love the hair girls and the beautiful video at the end.

Thanks for sharing and we look forward to our adventure in the Gorge next weekend.

Your niece watched the video about 30 times. Love the haircuts! I hope you were taking careful notes on how Bryanna's french braid was done - it looks amazing!

Too cute Lianne!! (the video ... although the hair cuts are great too!). Looks like you have a bit of a ham on your hands. *grin* So where is the pic of YOUR new do??

We actually completed our back-to-school shopping the first week of August believe it or not! I had to go home that week because I had to go to Ottawa to do AdopTALK, so I figured we might as well complete the task while we were there and the stores weren't too busy. Grandma likes to tag along, and of course ends up buying the girls a few new outfits. We've got the indoor AND outdoor shoes bought, lunch bags and school supplies. S has a new "rolling wheels" backback and N really wanted an "over the shoulder bag" this year. Oy. We seriously almost need a part-time job just to pay for all the back to school gear! We usually do the haircuts a couple of weeks after school starts so that they look fresh for school pic's. The one thing I forgot to do this year was the girls' physicals which I usually schedule for August. Oh well!

We're heading home on Friday to gear up for next Tuesday. I'm feeling ready ....... I think.
