Happy Halloween!
The Wayward Witch & Cowgirl Sheriff

(Click on a picture to see a larger version.)

Halloween was just a treat this year! (Pun intended ;-))

Both girls were THRILLED with their costumes and enjoyed their whole day at school. With Nanny and Papa coming to help out (Nanny walking the candy trail with us and Papa manning the door to hand out the goodies), both girls were over the moon excited.

We had a small blip when Bryanna got home from daycare and realized she had left part of her costume at school. So at 6:00 pm, with Papa as chauffeur and Bryanna by the hand, this mom was banging on the door of the school where the phenomenal caretakers were working late. They let us in, accompanied us upstairs, opened the door of Bryanna's classroom and we retrieved the missing pieces - catastrophe averted!

Before heading out, Cassidy amused herself by taking self-portraits ...

...and then both girls posed for the required photo session...

After walking (in Cassidy's case - running!) the neighbourhood...

We then headed home and the girls helped hand out our candy to suddenly arriving crowds of kids. Then Bryanna headed to her school chum's (Brittany) home for a sleep-over and Cassidy sorted candy with Nanny. (Papa and I headed out to Home Depot where, in a weirdly empty store, I completed the order process for a new floor in the living room!)

When I returned home half an hour later, our littlest cowgirl was deeply dreaming of a home on the range...

What a great day. Hope all our family and friends had wonderful adventures as well!

Happy Halloween - Boo!

Our Week at Shamrock Lodge

What a wonderful week we just spent at Shamrock Lodge on Lake Rosseau in the Muskokas. We joined my parents and my sister and her family for a week of relaxation, great food, and lots of water fun.

The resort is family run and the staff are totally kid-focused from meals delivered by young, cheerful servers, to special activities like ceramic painting and beading, to the Kids Klub staff who spend time playing with the kids for hours on end, taking them on boat rides and day trips (on a boat trip for ice cream, and an excursion to Santa's Village), and teaching them how to kayak, etc. Our three kids loved every moment of it. The parents and grandparents really appreciated the spa services (wow that hot-stone massage!), delicious meals, comfortable beds, wonderful shallow beach and water activities, and being able to relax knowing the kids were safe and having fun.

The following is a brief summary of our week in pictures, with a short heading before each set to let you know the topic (clicking on a picture will open a larger version - sometimes very large as I didn't shrink all of them!) And enjoy the cute VIDEO clip at the end - thanks to Bryanna the videographer and my sister, Kim, for her know-how in shrinking the file to a manageable size.

Enjoy!
